Empowering people to live healthy lives

11th April 2017

One of Caring Together’s key ambitions is to empower people to live healthy lives so they stay well and can take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing.

For that reason, partners work hard to promote Active Cheshire, an independent charity which is the strategic commissioner of sport and physical activity in Cheshire and Warrington.

Active Cheshire is running a social media campaign, called #PartOfTheMOVEment, which aims to get 50,000 people active by the end of the year. And the charity is making great progress as its research reveals that 40,000 residents have already signed up and are exercising regularly.

Readers can pledge their support by tweeting a brief description of what they’re intending to do and then posting regular updates – preferably with pictures. Don’t forget to use the campaign hashtag and to include the @ActiveCheshire Twitter handle.

The campaign has featured a series of case studies under the banner of “This Girl Can”. Aiming to get more young women physically active, it follows the subjects of the case studies as they put their best foot forward in pursuit of their goals. To watch their inspirational videos, visit www.activecheshire.org and select the “This Girl Can” slider at the top of the home page.
